FALKLAND – Two people were killed in a head-on crash south of Falkland on Friday.
RCMP say two vehicles collided head-on at about 7:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, on Highway 97 northwest of Madeline Lake Road.
Both drivers were killed in the crash, according to an RCMP media release. The drivers were the only ones in the vehicles.
"The identity of the drivers is being withheld pending next of kin notifications," Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says in the release. Both the RCMP's traffic reconstructionists and the B.C. Coroners Service are investigating.
Highway 97 was closed for hours on Friday, with traffic detoured onto Round Lake Road.
