Kamloops RCMP ready to give you a hand with anti-bicycle theft app

KAMLOOPS – Kamloops RCMP will help people register with an anti-bicycle thef app this weekend.

Officers will be at the Kamloops Bike Ranch upper parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16 assisting with registration on the 529 Garage app, according to a media release.

Police will also be handing out tamper proof 529 stickers to put on the bikes in an effort to deter thieves.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says all of the critical information about your bicycle can be captured with the 529 Garage app in just five minutes.

The app can help maximize insurance claims and recovery efforts with the police in the event that your bike is lost or stolen, she says.
