UPDATE: Two men stabbed in downtown Kelowna

KELOWNA – A Kelowna man has a date with a judge today following a double stabbing in the city’s downtown on Sunday.
RCMP got the call at 12:38 p.m. It was a report about an assault at Richter Street and Bernard Avenue.
Moments later, another report came in. There had been a fight and a stabbing two blocks away at Ellis Street and Leon Avenue. Police believe both calls were for one, continuous incident.
A suspect was arrested without incident. A weapon was later recovered.
Two men, ages 64 and 29, were taken to hospital. They were treated and released.
A Kelowna man, 44, is scheduled to appear in court today. He’ll be facing charges of assault and assault causing bodily harm.

KELOWNA – A man is cooling his heels in the RCMP cells waiting for a court appearance, after a fight and stabbing in Kelowna’s downtown Sunday afternoon.
The RCMP tell us it all started at about 12:38 p.m. when they got a report about an assault at Richter Street and Bernard Avenue.
Moments later, another report came in. There had been a fight and a stabbing two blocks away at Ellis Street and Leon Avenue. Police believe both calls were for one, continuous incident.
A suspect was arrested without incident. A weapon was later recovered.
Two victims were taken to hospital. They are expected to recover from their injuries.
The suspect, 44, will stay behind bars at the RCMP detachment until he goes before a judge Monday morning.
