Don’t be alarmed if you see a search in Kamloops tomorrow

KAMLOOPS – If you spot search and rescue crews on the south shore of Kamloops tomorrow, there's no need to panic.

The team will be conducting a training exercise tomorrow, Sept. 16, on the hills above Mission Flats Road.

The search and rescue command truck will be set up along the Summit Connector at the intersection of Summit Drive and Victoria Street West, Kamloops Search and Rescue says in a news release.

The exercise will involve the team searching for an injured hiker who is in unknown distress with the exact location unknown.

Although you may be concerned when you spot the search and rescue vehicle and members doing their thing tomorrow, they want to let everyone know ahead of time there's no cause for worry.
