Cooler weather for the Okanagan this week

OKANAGAN – It's going to feel a lot like fall in the Okanagan this week, with some rain and cooler temperatures in the forecast.

Environment Canada is forecasting a mainly cloudy day today, Sept. 18, with a 30 per cent chance of showers and risk of a thunderstorm. This afternoon, the weather office predicts the snow level at 1600 metres rising to 2000 metres. A UV index is predicted to be 3 or moderate is predicted today. The high will be around 16 Celsius. Clouds tonight with a chance of evening showers and a low of 5 C.

Tomorrow's forecast will bring temperatures around 16 C. Mainly cloudy skies and a 30 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon are predicted for Kelowna and Vernon. In Penticton, a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 percent chance of showers in the morning are expected. Tomorrow night a low of 6 C and cloudy skies are predicted across the Okanagan.

Environment Canada predicts a cloudy day with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a high 13 C on Wednesday. Thursday's forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 15 C.

On Friday, a mix of sun and cloud and a high 16 C are predicated.

Normal temperatures for this time of year in the Okanagan are highs of 19 C and lows of 6 C.
