Penticton’s new mayor gets Vancouver swearing-in ceremony
PENTICTON – It's official — mayor Garry Litke has been sworn-in along with a new and familiar Coun. Katie Robinson.
Litke completed the oath of office in a small ceremony at the Pan Pacific hotel in Vancouver recently. Litke and Robinson were attending the Union of B.C.'s Municipalities annual convention along with councillors Judy Sentes, Andrew Jakubeit, Wesley Hopkin and Helena Konanz.
“We are eager to immediately begin highlighting the priorities of our community, including conversations on the progress of the Penticton Regional Hospital patient care tower,” Litke says.
Litke was recently elected mayor on Sept. 7 and beat out contenders Vic Powell and Brian Henningson. Robinson won Litke's old seat which he had to vacate in order to run for the city's top job. Robinson has served on council before.
