KAMLOOPS – TRU students were welcomed back to school this week with a colourful addition to one campus street.
TRU's Students' Union unveiled the first rainbow crosswalk in Interior B.C. in front of the Old Main building.
"TRUSU is excited to have a permanent symbol of LGBTQ pride on campus," LGBTQ representative for the union Nic Zdunich stated in a press release.
TRU is not the first to don the colourful walkway. The rainbow crosswalk campaign is an ongoing worldwide initiative to symbolize pride and has popped up in Vancouver, Hollywood and even the Netherlands.
