VERNON – A man who was found beaten Sept. 6 in the parking lot of a local hotel has died, prompting police to turn their investigation into a homicide.
Paul Jakubczyk, 53, was found unconscious by police outside the Best Western Vernon Lodge and rushed to Vernon Jubilee Hospital with serious injuries.
"The police are continuing to investigate this serious assault that has now turned into a homicide investigation," RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk stated in a press release.
