Possible pellet gun in parking lot locks down Armstrong high school

ARMSTRONG – School officials initiated a ‘hold and secure’ procedure following reports of a pellet gun in the parking lot of Pleasant Valley Secondary School in Armstrong yesterday afternoon.

Alice Hucul with the North Okanagan-Shuswap School District says in a media release the lock down occurred at about 2 p.m. yesterday, Sept. 25, as a precaution.

Students and staff were brought inside the high school and the doors were locked so no one could “enter or exit the building,” she says.

The RCMP were notified and classes continued as usual.

The hold and secure was lifted about 45 minutes later when the RCMP said it was safe.

Police haven't said if any arrests have been made or if a pellet gun was found.
