Blues promote Doug Armstrong, Bruce Affleck

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Blues promoted general manager Doug Armstrong to president of hockey operations and Bruce Affleck to president of business operations.

Affleck was also appointed an alternate governor Wednesday, joining Armstrong in that capacity. Armstrong was NHL general manager of the year in 2011-12 after the Blues won the Central Division with the second-best record in franchise history.

Affleck has had multiple positions in the organization the last 17 years and played for the Blues for five seasons in the 1970s.
