Female pedestrian dies after being struck by bus in Burnaby, B.C.

BURNABY, B.C. – A 22-year-old woman has died after being struck by a transit bus in Burnaby, B.C.

RCMP say the bus hit the female pedestrian around 7 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of 6th Street and 16th Avenue.

Mounties, the fire department and paramedics attended.

The woman, a Burnaby resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

RCMP say it’s early in the investigation but speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision.

Mounties are asking anyone who may have been a witness to contact them.
