Penticton lifts open burning ban
PENTICTON – Penticton residents can enjoy a campfire within city limits once again.
The city lifted its open burning ban this afternoon, Sept. 28, following the advent of cooler temperatures and a reduced fire risk in the area.
Fire pits at both of the city’s beaches can be used.
“We were very fortunate to not have had a major fire this summer and we attribute it to the responsible actions of our residents and visitors,” says Deputy Fire Chief Chris Forster.
Forster continues to ask residents to use caution when using open fires and motorized equipment within the community.
