Will Ford makes first start at tailback as Bombers face Riders in rematch

WINNIPEG – Will Ford makes his first start at tailback for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers when they face the Saskatchewan Roughriders this weekend

In fact, Ford says he hasn’t started at tailback since college in 2009.

He’s anxious to show what he can do and Bombers coach Tim Burke says he brings a different style to the position than Chad Simpson, who has a foot injury.

Ford has seen more action this season as a kick returner than as a running back.

The Bombers lost their Labour Day weekend matchup with the Riders 48-25, sinking to 1-8 while the Riders lead the CFL at 8-1.
