VERNON – They were the hottest four days since the summer of ’69.

The mercury rose past previous records Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday of last week.

Thursday’s high of 30.9 C outdid the 1969 record of 30.6 C, and Friday’s fried the 2006 record of 28.5 C with 30.8 C. Saturday sizzled with 29.9 C, breaking 2001’s record of 28.4 C. Sunday also broke its 2001 record, which was 29.1 C with a new high of 29.7 C.

Warmer than average temperatures are expected to continue this week. Normals are around 19 C at this time of year. Highs of 20, 22 and 24 C are predicted until Friday, when temperatures are expected to come down a few degrees, accompanied by rain and cloud.
