When: Saturday, April 20th, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Where: 1000 KLO Rd, Kelowna – Okanagan College
Details: Free electronics disposal event.
The following items will be accepted for free recycling:

Computers and their components

Video game systems
Cables
Small kitchen appliances (mixers, coffee makers, microwave ovens, coffee grinders, electric grills, toasters, etc.)
Batteries (including car batteries)
…and almost anything with a cable!
As we help take responsibility for our green community, we would also like to take responsibility for our human community; we are collecting non-perishable food items for the Kelowna Food Bank at this event. Just drop them off in the blue-and-green truck!
On-site shredding of confidential documents will also be available, provided by Okanagan Paper Shredding ($5/banker box).
BACKGROUND: 2013 marks the 6th annual 1-800-GOT-JUNK? free electronic recycling event in recognition of Earth Day. 1-800-GOT-JUNK? wants to support the community by providing a convenient outlet for electronics recycling, raising awareness of the process, and using its trucks to collect donations for the Kelowna Food Bank. This year’s partners include Planet Earth Recycling, Organizing Help and Okanagan Paper Shredding.
