Julia Roberts says shooting ‘August: Osage County’ was life-altering

TORONTO – Julia Roberts says her “life will never be the same again” after working on the film “August: Osage County.”

The ensemble family drama that’s based on the acclaimed Tracy Letts play made its world premiere last night at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Roberts told a festival press conference this morning that shooting the film was the best acting experience she’s ever had, but it was also the hardest she’s ever worked in her life.

The Oscar winner said it was “like a mountain to climb every single day.”

Roberts stars as the daughter of a pill-popping, cancer-stricken mother, played by three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep.

She said she’s never seen anyone work harder than Streep, who was not at the press conference, and added she was “so grateful to see that up close.”
