Edmontonians enjoy nice fall day, forecasters say it won’t last

EDMONTON – The City of Edmonton has reached a high of 30.3 C, a record for Sept. 12.

The previous record temperature was 29.4 C, set back in 1944.

Around the province, 21 other records were broken on the sweltering September afternoon, most set in in 2009.

Meteorologist Nicola Crosbie says unfortunately the heat won’t last.

She says as much as everyone would like it, the warm weather is unlikely to be sustained unti Halloween.

Last year, Edmonton’s first snowfall was on Oct. 10.
