St. Louis Blues agree to terms on 7-year deal with defenceman Alex Pietrangelo

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Blues are locking up defenceman Alex Pietrangelo to a seven-year contract.

The 23-year-old led all blue-liners on the team with 24 points (five goals, 19 assists) in 47 games last season.

The six-foot-three, 201-pound native of King City, Ont., has played parts of five NHL seasons with the Blues.

He has 121 points (29-92) and 73 penalty minutes in 224 career regular-season games.

Pietrangelo was originally drafted by the Blues with the fourth overall pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
