Murder victim found in Kelowna orchard identified

KELOWNA – The identity of the woman whose body was found in a Kelowna orchard last week has been made public on social media.

Kelowna resident Russia Katalina Nicholson was just 23 years old when she died. Her body was found off Cooper Road the morning of Oct. 11.

Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey said in a media release that it was "not a random attack" but has not released her cause of death.

Anyone who may have witnessed anything in the area prior, or anyone with any information is asked to contact the Serious Crimes Unit of the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
