SURREY, B.C. – Homicide investigators have been called to a park in Surrey, B.C., after the body of man was discovered.
Integrated Homicide Investigation Team Sgt. Jennifer Pound says the body was found Wednesday morning.
She says few other details have been released and the victim has not yet been identified.
Meanwhile, the Independent Investigations Office has confirmed its members are at the scene of a police-involved incident in Burnaby.
The office, which examines cases where police are involved in a death or serious injury, says a team was dispatched early this morning.
IIO spokeswoman Kelly Kilpatrick says Burnaby Mounties reported they found a man in medical distress on a city street and put him in the back of their police cruiser, but the man’s condition deteriorated, prompting the call an ambulance and then to the IIO.
