PENTICTON – Penticton police discovered a suspected drug dealer after checking out a man riding a high-end mountain bike during the early morning hours last week.
RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says police checked out a man riding an expensive mountain bike on Jermyn Avenue around 3:45 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 20. He was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Keremeos.
The suspect was taken to the Penticton detachment where police found a quantity of drugs, suspected to be methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, LSD and marijuana. He was also in the possession of a number of prescription pills and a quantity of cash.
The unidentified substances found on the suspect have been sent to the lab for analysis.
Wrigglesworth says a 43-year-old Penticton resident was released under a promise to appear facing a charge of possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking.
