Bourne, Dubreuil return to new season of CBC-TV’s ‘Battle of the Blades’
TORONTO – The cast is set for a new round of “Battle of the Blades.”
CBC-TV says the figure skating competitors will include returning ice dancers Shae-Lynn Bourne and Marie-France Dubreuil as well as “Battle” newcomer Oksana Kazakova.
They join previously announced skaters Violetta Afanasieva, Jessica Dubé, Amanda Evora, Marcy Hinzmann and Sinead Kerr.
Previously announced hockey players include Anson Carter, Mathieu Dandenault, Mike Krushelnyski, Vladimir Malakhov, Grant Marshall, Brian Savage, Jason Strudwick and Scott Thornton.
Hosted by Ron MacLean, the weekly series pairs figure skaters with former NHLers in a weekly ice dance competition. The winning team gets a $100,000 donation for the charity of their choice.
“Battle of the Blades” premieres Sunday with a two-hour episode that will reveal the pairings and look back at the first three seasons.
This year, each episode will feature both the performances and the subsequent elimination.
