Woman accidentally shot near Adams Lake

CHASE – Police arrested a 58-year-old man after a woman was accidentally shot in the Adams Lake area last week.

Chase RCMP were called to a report of a woman with a gunshot wound on Monday, Oct. 16, according to a media release.

Police say a man walking with a .22 calibre rifle stumbled, and as he fell, the rifle fired hitting a woman in the shoulder.

A 58-year-old man was arrested and later released on a promise to appear in court.

He is facing charges of possessing a firearm without a licence and careless use of a firearm.

RCMP have not released the man's identity or provided any information about the shooting victim's current condition.
