Don Cheadle, Allison Janney, Anna Faris make a casual run through Emmy rehearsals
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – With the show’s sleek, angular set as a backdrop, Emmy Awards presenters and performers took a few minutes to perfect their lines the day before the ceremony.
Allison Janney, Anna Faris, Don Cheadle and Carrie Underwood were among those rehearsing Saturday at the Nokia Theatre, where the 65th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be presented Sunday.
Janney and Faris play mother and daughter on their new show, “Mom,” and channeled that vibe in their rehearsal as they practiced presenting two awards.
Cheadle delivered a monologue about television’s impact on culture by discussing two key events 50 years ago: the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the stateside debut of the Beatles on “The Ed Sullivan Show.”
Underwood’s performance will immediately follow Cheadle’s presentation, but she rehearsed later Saturday.
