Mounties investigate allegations of hazing incident in Saskatchewan

LANIGAN, Sask. – Mounties in a small Saskatchewan town say they are investigating allegations of hazing that injured freshman students.

Sgt. James Richardson at the Lanigan RCMP detachment wouldn’t say whether charges have been laid, noting the case is still under investigation.

But Richardson says the alleged incident occurred early this month and was reported to police by the victims.

He says the students suffered minor injuries.

Richardson would not divulge the nature of the hazing.

He says most of the people who are being investigated are under 18.

He says more details would be released by police in a few days.
