Bombers playoff hopes dim but can play spoiler to B.C. Lions Friday

WINNIPEG – Their own playoff hopes may be fading to black but the Winnipeg Blue Bombers can still play spoiler as the B.C. Lions try to lock down their own post-season future.

The Lions (8-4) need to beat the Bombers or see the Edmonton Eskimos lose to guarantee a spot.

But even at 2-10 the Bombers still aren’t entirely out of the playoff picture in the CFL East, with Montreal at 4-8.

Veteran receiver Terrence Edwards says the players haven’t lost hope as long as they have a chance.

The Bombers are starting Max Hall again but former Bomber quarterback Buck Pierce is No. 2 on the Lions’ depth chart as they visit Winnipeg on Friday night.

Edwards says they wish their former quarterback well before and after the game, but not during.
