Temporary indoor skating rink, Christmas market coming to 16th floor of Kelowna’s Landmark 6

KELOWNA – The top floor of one of Kelowna’s tallest buildings will transform into a Christmas wonderland later this month, complete with an indoor skating rink and a Christmas market.

For three days starting Nov. 24, the 16th floor of the Landmark 6 building will be home to a charity event raising money for the Tree of Hope Foundation.

For the first time ever, there will be an indoor craft and artisan market, live entertainment, free mulled cider, an indoor skating rink and breathtaking views of the city. Beer, wine and other refreshments will also be available. 

Roughly 45 local vendors will be selling a wide variety of goods from home decor, Christmas gifts and clothing, to baked goods and wine. There is free indoor parking in the parkade and skate rentals are available as well.

The event runs from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, from noon until 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25, and noon until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26.

Admission is $5 with proceeds going to the Tree of Hope Foundation.

The Landmark Tree of Hope has been lit from late November until January every year in Kelowna since 1997. It stands over 120 feet tall and has roughly 25,000 LED energy efficient bulbs, according to the Landmark website.

“Most importantly, the Tree of Hope has become a local celebration, fundraising event and symbol of Kelowna as a community known for its kindness to those less fortunate," organizers say.
