PENTICTON – WildSafe B.C. has issued a cougar alert in Penticton this morning.
The alert is in effect for the upper Duncan Avenue area of Penticton after reports of a cougar on the prowl were reported to the B.C. Wildlife RAPP line yesterday, Nov.7, according to a WildSafe B.C. Facebook post.
WildSafe B.C. says residents should take care to ensure pets are indoors at night and pet food kept inside.
The group also asks people to be wary when out after dark in the neighbourhood. It suggests people travel in pairs or groups if possible and keep pets on a leash, especially at dusk and at dawn.
