Shutout victory for Kelowna Chiefs

KELOWNA – Rutland’s very own Kelowna Chiefs were able to extract revenge against the Princeton Posse Saturday night.

The Chiefs earned a 6 – 0 shutout victory at Rutland Arena.

The last time these two teams met was in the Chiefs season opener in Princeton where the Posse earned a 4 – 3 victory.

The Chiefs didn’t get on the board until the second period when Nicholas Kovacik scored to set the pace for the rest of the match.

Nick Josephs would go on to score two more in the second, one on the powerplay.

The third period was just as exciting with Dylan Jamieson starting things off, netting his third goal of the weekend.  Jagger Bowles (1G, 3A) would also score for the Chiefs along with Nick Headrick.

Three of the Kelowna Chiefs goals were scored on the powerplay while Connor DeMelo earned his first shut out of the season with the Chiefs.

The Kelowna Chiefs will play their third game in three nights Sunday evening at Rutland Arena when the Kamloops Storm visit.  Puck drop is 7PM.
