TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:
Toronto Stock Exchange (14,359.88, up 460.56 points.)
Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Industrials. Up half a cent, or 1.18 per cent, to 43 cents on 15.2 million shares.
Cenovus Energy Inc. (TSX:CVE). Energy. Up 28 cents, or 7.87 per cent, to $3.84 on 12.46 million shares.
Royal Bank. (TSX:RY). Financials. Up $3.84, or 4.59 per cent, to $87.47 on 12.1 million shares.
Teranga Gold Corp. (TSX:TGZ). Materials. Down 82 cents, or 7.83 per cent, to $9.65 on 11.04 million shares.
Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (TSX:CNQ). Up $1.93, or 11.48 per cent, to $18.74 on9.8 million shares.
MEG Energy Corp. (TSX:MEG). Energy. Up 44 cents, or 19.21 per cent, to $2.73 on 9.45 million shares.
Companies in the news:
Transat A.T. Inc. (TSX:TRZ). Up 49 cents or 5.85 per cent to $8.86. The company plans to use the federal emergency wage subsidy to rehire 4,000 employees it had temporarily laid off after halting all flights due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Transat says the employees, 1,900 of whom are flight attendants, will not be required to work as part of their recall.
