Jacksonville International Airport evacuated over suspicious packages

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville International Airport has been evacuated due to “police activity” regarding suspicious packages.

The airport posted the information on its official Twitter feed Tuesday evening. The Tweet did not give any other details. A telephone call to the airport went straight to voicemail.

Airport officials also tweeted that passengers on inbound flights currently on the ground would be bused to offsite hotels as transportation became available.
