Four-day closure of Old Vernon, Rutland and Acland roads intersection
Beginning Monday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. until Friday, Nov. 24 at 7 a.m., the Old Vernon, Rutland and Acland roads intersection will be closed for roundabout construction and detours will be in effect.
A transit detour on route #8 University will be in effect with stop closures on Rutland Road, Acland Rd, Edwards Rd. Temporary stops will be located at Commercial Drive near the Old Rutland Rd North alignment.
Please obey signage and traffic safety personnel as every effort will be made to minimize disruptions for motorists, residents and businesses. Patience of motorists while road work is underway is appreciated.
This work is being done by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure as part of the Highway 97 six-laning project. Roundabout finishing work, including curb and gutters is anticipated next year.
