PENTICTON – Nobody can be left hanging for high-fives during a Guinness World Record attempt this Friday.
The South Okanagan Event Centre wants as many residents as it can get for the most simultaneous high-fives event prior to the Penticton Vees' season home opener. So far, the current record is 4,699 achieved by The Kroger Co. at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louiseville, KY on April 16, 2013.
Attendees are to gather at the Gate 1 plaza between 5 and 5:45 p.m. The high-fiving will occur at 5:55 p.m. At exactly that time an aerial photo and video will be taken to document all participating.
The symbolic gesture is in support of the building’s five year anniversary.
Before the 5:55 p.m. Guinness World Records attempt free hot dogs and pop as well as a commemorative five year anniversary poster will be provided to all participants.
