GATINEAU, Que. – The criminal case against suspended Sen. Patrick Brazeau has been delayed over unspecified health issues.
Brazeau’s lawyer was in a Quebec court Wednesday, where the senator faces charges of assault and sexual assault over an incident last February.
The case was put over until Feb. 14, 2014 after his lawyer told the court that Brazeau has health problems.
Crown prosecutor Sylvain Petitclerc said he was made aware of the health issues, but neither he nor Brazeau’s lawyer would spell out the nature of the concerns.
Brazeau was not in court.
On Tuesday, the RCMP revealed they are seeking bank records for the senator in connection with disallowed housing expense claims.
