SeaWorld Orlando treating whale that beached herself

ORLANDO, Fla. – A critically ill pygmy killer whale that beached herself off the west coast of Florida is getting treatment.

SeaWorld Orlando said last week that it was treating the 255-pound whale at its rescue facility.

SeaWorld says it’s very rare for a pygmy whale to get beached and in need of rescue.

SeaWorld also says the female whale appears to have injured herself through a jagged oyster bed before being beached.

The whale suffered dehydration and is being fed fluids and antibiotics.
