Charges laid in 2013 murder of Theresa Neville in Kelowna

KELOWNA – After more than four years, charges have been laid in a Kelowna murder case.

A 61-year-old Kelowna man has been charged with second degree murder in connection to the 2013 death of Theresa Neville, according to an RCMP release.

Jay Sinclair Thomson was arrested earlier today, Nov. 29, and will remain in custody pending his first court appearance according to Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey.

Shortly after midnight on June 18, 2013, police responded to a 911 call from a home in the 300 block of Yates Road in Kelowna. Her children were home at the time.

When police arrived they discovered Neville's body and her death was deemed a homicide.

Police have not released how Thomson and Neville were connected.

Neville, 27, was a mother of two, who was described as quiet and devoted to her children.

Thomson does not have a significant criminal history in British Columbia.
