Sakic, Howard and Costello among Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame’s Class of 2013
TORONTO – Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame is welcoming 11 new members.
The Class of 2013 includes curling legend Russ Howard, former NHL star Joe Sakic, the 1992 Olympic champion women’s coxless four rowing team, cyclist Alison Sydor and five-time Paralympian Andre Viger.
The rowing team members are Kirsten Barnes, Brenda Taylor, Jessica Monroe-Gonin, Kay Worthington and Jennifer Walinga.
Former Canadian Amateur Hockey Association president Murray Costello and sport development architect Dr. Jean-Guy Ouellet enter the Hall as builders.
Inductees will be presented with their official honoured member jackets at a ceremony in the evening.
