Alouettes say veteran quarterback Calvillo will be shut down for season
MONTREAL – Montreal Alouettes quarterback Anthony Calvillo will not play again this season.
General manager and head coach Jim Popp made the announcement today.
Calvillo has been sidelined for over two months with a concussion.
Popp says Calvillo recently suffered a setback.
The CFL’s all-time passing leader was injured on Aug. 17 when his head struck the turf following a legal hit by Saskatchewan defensive end Ricky Foley.
There is concern that Calvillo’s 20-year career may be over.
The 6-9 Alouettes are in third place in the East Division standings.
