West Kelowna bank robbed; suspect sought by police

WEST KELOWNA – RCMP are looking for a suspect in connection with a robbery at a West Kelowna bank yesterday afternoon.

Police say a man walking into a branch of the Bank of Montreal in the 3600 block of Gosset Road at around 3:30 p.m. yesterday, Dec. 9.

The man passed a note to the bank teller and got away with some cash, according to a media release.

RCMP surrounded the area, calling in both a police dog and a helicopter to help with the search for the suspect.

“A search of the area surrounding the bank was conducted with negative results,” Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says in the release.

RCMP describe the suspect as a Caucasian man in his 20s, less than 6’ tall with a slim build. He was wearing a black jacket, black pants, and a red and black baseball cap. He was carrying a black laptop case or briefcase.
