Meet the 2018 Advisory Board

The RDCO Economic Development Commission has a 40+ member advisory body including key industry leaders representing various sectors. The Advisory Board acts as a conduit of community and business information; this information provides staff the ability to identify tactics and partnerships in order to facilitate a healthy, dynamic and sustainable community economy. 

New to the Advisory Board this year are:

The Innovation Generation Challenge, Supporting Entrepreneurial Youth

The iGen Challenge connects budding young entrepreneurs with the marketplace in a way never seen before. By connecting young entrepreneurs with community business members, we're uncovering the next breed of business gurus in the Central Okanagan!

The iGen challenge is for grade 7-12 students that want exposure to mentors and learning in innovative sectors of our local economy. You can support our youth by becoming a mentor and sponsor to the program.

Census 2016 Central Okanagan Highlights

The Regional District of Central Okanagan's EDC has created Regional summaries of the 2016 Census releases.  The summaries can be viewed and downloaded from the resources page of www.investkelowna.com.  Topics include:

  • Age, Sex and Dwelling Counts
  • Families, Households, Marital Status, Languages
  • Income
  • Immigration and Ethnocultural Diversity, Housing, Aboriginal Peoples
  • Labour
  • Education
  • Journey to Work

In addition the EDC has created power point slides of Regional highlights for public use.


Free Digital Skills Program

UBC's Okanagan campus, in partnership with the Okanagan Regional Library, is offering a FREE foundational digital skills program for adults.

If you have a general interest in learning new digital skills, "Essential Skills for Your Digital World" may be for you!

Taylor Rae

Before university, Taylor spent a year abroad living in Thailand which encouraged her to finish her degree studying in Turkey, both experiences have made her an avid traveller. Taylor graduated from Thompson Rivers University with a degree in Communications and Public Relations. Although born on the coast, Taylor has lived the majority of her life in Kamloops and enjoys what the region has to offer. In her spare time, you can find Taylor volunteering in the community or out on an adventure with her friends and her dogs.
