Second report in two weeks of firearms stolen in break and enter
PENTICTON – Penticton RCMP are investigating a Main Street residence break and enter involving theft of firearms.
Police spokesperson Cpl. Ted Manchulenko says police responded to a complaint of a residential break and enter on Dec. 8 at around 12:30 p.m.
Muchalenko says police have received information that firearms were removed from the residence during the break and enter.
"The owners were away at the time, and we are awaiting additional information coming from the forensic identification section,” Manchulenko says, adding evidence in the form of footwear imprints and fingerprints were left at the scene.
The break in is believed to have occurred in the early morning hours of Dec. 8.
The incident follows the theft of long guns from a Summerland residence last week.
