
Kelowna man assaulted interrupting break-in
KELOWNA – Police say a man was assaulted with a golf club outside his own home after trying to stop two men breaking into his mini-van.
RCMP spokesman Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey said in a press release a Kelowna man suffered minor injuries after interrupting a theft from his Dodge van parked in the 700 block of Glenwood Avenue.
Police say two men were later arrested near Glenfell Court. The canine unit was used to recover evidence of the alleged assault.
A 33-year-old Kelowna man faces potential charges and is expected back in court Feb. 7, 2018. The second man was released without charges.
