Vernon Light a Bulb campaign exceeds goal

VERNON – Holiday cheer is being felt at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.

The 28th annual Light a Bulb Campaign has reached its $200,000 goal, the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Association announced in a media release this week.

“Support for the hospital is always very strong,” campaign chair Marg Bailey said, “But this year’s Light a Bulb campaign resonated with so many people. They understood the necessity for the campaign. With so many patients waiting for hip and knee surgery, the 2015 Light a Bulb Campaign became imperative to support. I wish to thank each and every one who supported this need.”

The campaign raised $213,162 for the purchase of two new orthopaedic surgical sets for Vernon Jubilee Hospital.

Generous organizations and businesses contributing to Light a Bulb included the Coldstream Women’s Institute, Glenemma Ladies Club of Falkland and Rad Energy Electric Ltd.
