Father defends Jets fan appearing to punch woman in videotaped fight, says it was self-defence

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The father of a New York Jets fan who was videotaped punching a female Patriots fan in the face is defending his son.

Kurt Paschke Sr., of Holbrook, N.Y., says his son Kurt Paschke was being attacked by three women at MetLife Stadium on Sunday when he responded. He says he’s “tired of hearing about you never hit a girl or punch a girl.” He asks what was his son was supposed to do.

New Jersey State Police are investigating.

The confrontation occurred at the stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., during or after the game between the Jets and New England Patriots.

The elder Paschke says his wife, a breast cancer survivor, had gone to the game too. He says his son never intended to hurt anyone.
