KELOWNA – Police are now following up on a house fire on Gordon Drive yesterday afternoon after firefighters figured out what caused a small blaze.
Occupants of the home at 3049 Gordon Drive had already put out the fire before Kelowna Fire Department arrived but investigation determined it was started by the production of a "weed oil substance."
Two people from the home were taken to hospital with burns and police are now on the case, says Platoon Capt. Tim Light.
"Kelowna Fire Department would like to remind the public to have a serviced fire extinguisher in their home as well as a working smoke detector," he said.
