Road flagger to be honoured with candlelight vigil after fatal Island accident

VANCOUVER – A traffic flagger critically injured in an accident on Vancouver Island has now died.

B.C. Flagging Association spokeswoman Diane Herback says the unnamed victim died shortly after being taken off life support.

The woman was airlifted to hospital Monday morning after a loaded dump truck backed over her while paving work was underway in Duncan, B.C.

Herback says details of the accident are still under investigation.

She also says a candle light vigil is being arranged to honour the woman.

It will be held this weekend in Surrey. (CKNW)
