Three people dead in float plane crash on remote B.C. island: RCMP

ALERT BAY, B.C. – Three people are dead after a float plane crash off the northern end of Vancouver Island.

Mounties say the Cessna 185 with three people on board crashed just before noon on West Cracroft Island.

All of the occupants were killed.

A news release says the plane originated in the Port McNeil area.

Investigators are still attempting to determine where it was headed.

The BC Coroners Service and the Transportation Safety Board have been notified.
