Snow hits Okanagan Connector
KELOWNA – If you're driving the Connector this weekend be prepared for some frosty weather.
The Okanagan Connector from Merritt to Kelowna got a dusting of snow early this morning with an air temperature of -6 C and road surface temperature of -1 degrees.
Environnment Canada issued a special weather statement forecasting a Pacific Weather system to bring in 2 to 5 cm of snow at higher elevations along the Connector, as well as the Kootenay Pass.
A DriveBC Highway camera shows a segment of the Connector near Pennask Summit (just over 1700 m) dusted with snow. Environment Canada says the snow level has now dropped to 1600 m near the Pennask Summit and the Kootenay Pass.
