Homeless woman given 80 year prison sentence for slaying of Canadians

MAYS LANDING, N.J. – An American woman has been reportedly handed an 80-year prison sentence for the slaying of a Canadian mother and her daughter near Atlantic City.

The Press of Atlantic City is reporting on its website that a New Jersey superior court judge handed Antoinette Pelzer two consecutive 40 year sentences.

Pelzer pleaded guilty in August to killing Po Lin Wan, 80 and her daughter, Alice Mei See Leung, 47 in May 2012.

The newspaper says surveillance video played for the court shows Pelzer running up and start to stab Mei See Leung and then her mother when she tried to help her daughter.

According to a psychiatrist’s report, Pelzer has denied robbery was a motive, but has not said why she stabbed the two Toronto women.
