Priest Valley Arena & Gym Disabled Accessible Door Upgrade Completed

As part of its annual major maintenance program, Recreation Services has completed the installation of disable accessible doors at both the north and south entrances in the Priest Valley Arena & Gym building.

This project, approved by Vernon City Council, included replacement of the front lobby doors with automatic sliding doors, and the installation of new doors at the player’s entrance with a push button automatic door opener.

“This project is an example or our commitment to ensure that all of our facilities are as accessible as possible” said, Wayne Mihalicz Recreation Facilities Coordinator.

“I think it’s great that Priest Valley Arena is more accessible for everyone to use” said, Crystal Williams Youth Coordinator with Independent Living Vernon.
